“Pick of the Festival 2015″ – LONDONist
“Awkward, embarrassing but highly entertaining and captivating.” – Toothpick Nation
“Unhinged, uncomfortable, unbridled… genius. A must see.” – A Younger Theatre
Join Pam and Sharl on their hysterical walking tour as they share their love for some of the uglier buildings in London. There is no accounting for taste! You will witness things that are better left unsaid, unstated and unseen: The abject exterior of the bla bla bla to the stone steps of Holborn station.
These theatricalised walking tours will guide the curious through an unusual psychogeography of the capital’s architectural underbelly. The ladies will present their favourite places and spaces and disclose the stories of those who dreamed them up, designed and realised them. An informative and funny parody of the walking tour, Tack-On Tours reveals that even the ugly can be beautiful…
In the 2015 version, they continue to unpick pre- conceived notions of the aesthetics associated with the progressive redevelopment and re-working of London. They ask: Why should the city change? Why should we construct, deconstruct, demolish and alter? What are we working towards? What are we progressing to? And most importantly, are we all on board?
